The Foundling and Other Tales of Prydain (1973)
Lloyd Alexander wrote a number of tales exploring the backstory of people and events in the Prydain universe, collected in this volume which effectively forms a prequel to the series. Among the stories are elaborations on Dallben's time as a ward of the three witches, the elopement of Eilonwy's mother, Angharad, Coll's rescue of Hen Wen from Annuvin, and the origins of Dyrnwyn and Fflewddur's harp.
